One of the founders of Punch in 1841 and became its exclusive engraver on December 24, 1842. He was replaced by Joseph Swain in 1843. He created The Lady’s Newspaper, which was later incorporated with Queen, and engraved for the Illustrated London News, from 1842 until his death.
