Aged Beggarman

“That poor old beggarman, crippled and bedridden, is one of the most powerfully-drawn pictures in our collection. He is carried about on a half ‘settle,’ half stretcher, by neighbour to neighbour, and from door to door. If people have nothing to give him, for ’tis hard to give to all that plant themselves or are dropped down at your door in Ireland, you can at least send him on.”
